What a PhD Knows….

What does a PhD know? Nothing, but a whole of somethings. My curiosity is immense and it often takes me down the “rabbit hole” and there lies the problem. There are many interesting things to be found down in the “rabbit-hole,” don’t get me wrong, but the rabbit has created many distracting, enticing tunnels with entryways of a music filled tunnel and flashing lights or the smell of the ocean, emanating from the dark of another tunnel or the beauty of a sun-drenched valley of tulips seen with a far-off view down another tunnel. That’s where the flip of a page of a physical book does me good. I can pick up the book, such as “What Does a Plant Know?” and flip through, find a page of interest, for a purposeful distraction from my studies, and read one or two pages, lay on the couch in my office, with two pups beside me and maybe even a cat-dog, and come to my senses. Phew! I avoided the “rabbit-hole” hangover all together, instead feeling refreshed and relaxed.
